| Video Discription | How to make Ven pongal recipe (Ghee Pongal/Khara Pongal Recipe) easily and quickly using pressure cooker - South Indian Breakfast recipe. It can also be prepared in rice cooker. You can follow this easy method & replace rice with Millets like varagu,samai for making pongal. Ingredients ( 1 cup - 250ml) Raw rice/Pacharisi - 1 cup Moong dal/Paasi paruppu - 1 tbsp ( Add 3 tbsp for hotel taste) Salt - as needed Water - 4.5 - 5 cups Ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp Pepper corns or crushed pepper/Milagau - 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds/Jeeragam - 1 tsp Cashews/Mundiri - few Curry leaves/Karuvepilai - few leaves Method : Wash the rice & dal together & drain the water. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a cooker base and splutter pepper corns.Then add the cumin & other ingredients.Mix well & add water,salt & hing.Add the washed rice & dal.Pressure cook in low flame for one whistle.Remove & open the lid.Mash the rice well and add 1 tbsp of ghee.Serve hot with chutney ,sambar !
