| Video Discription | 1)Ven Pongal will be very tasteful to have with Coconut chutney. We can make it very easily and quickly. Ven Pongal replaces the tiffin items of Idli and Dosa. It is also a quick digestive food. Ingredients to make Ven pongal:- Raw rice- 250gm Split green gram- 150gm Ghee- 3tbsp Cashew nuts- 25gm Curry leaves- 5 bunch Cumin- 1 tbsp Pepper -1 tbsp Salt to taste. Preparation of Ven pongal:- 1) Firstly fry the split green gram in a pan on low flame. Wash the rice and fried green gram together twice. Then soak them for 10 minutes. 2) Put them in a pressure cooker and pour 4.5 tumblers of water for 1 tumbler rice and 1/2 tumbler green gram. ( Ratio 1:3) 3) Add salt to taste and close the lid of pressure cooker. Leave it to cook for 4 whistles on low flame. 4) Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and get the cashew nuts fried. After removed the fried cashew nuts, put the pepper and cumin in the pan and fry them. Now add the curry leaves and saute gently. Then remove the pan from stove. 5) If add correct ratio of water, Ven pongal will not stick in bottom of pressure cooker. Add the season, Fried cashew nuts and 1 tbsp ghee with the pongal and mix well. Now our tasteful Ven pongal is ready. Ingredients to make Coconut chutney:- Roasted bengal gram- 50gm Grated coconut- 3/4 cup Green chilli- 4 Ginger small piece- 1 Garlic cloves- 3 Mustard seeds and split black gram- 1 tbsp Cooking oil- 2 tbsp Curry leaves- 1 bunch Salt to taste. Preparation of Coconut chutney:- 1) Heat 1 tbsp cooking oil in a pan. Then put the green chillies, garlic cloves and ginger piece. Now add the grated coconut with them and saute them gently on medium flame. Then add the roasted bengal grams and stir them. 2) Then remove the pan from stove and leave it to cool down. Add salt to taste and get it grinded. 3) Heat 1 tbsp cooking oil and put the 1 tbsp mustard seeds and split black gram. Add curry leaves after the mustard seeds started crackling. Then remove the pan from the stove. 4) Now add the season with the chutney and mix well. Our Coconut chutney is ready. The pongal and chutney is enough for 4 Adults.
