Take oil in a wide pan. 2. Add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. 3. Add asafoetida, chopped onions and slit green chillies. 4. To this mixture, add chopped ginger and curry leaves. 5. Saute all these ingredients for 30 seconds on a medium low flame. 6. Next add chopped beans and carrots. 7. Then add chopped tomatoes and cooked peas. 8. Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Saute for a few seconds. 9. Add the rolled oats and give it all a quick mix. 10. Pour water in intervals to cook the oats. 11. Add some salt and mix it all well. 12. Cover the kadai with a lid and cook the upma for 5 mins. 13. Sprinkle some lemon juice, add some roasted peanuts and chopped coriander leaves in the end. Give it all a quick mix. Upma is a staple breakfast in most of the Indian households. It holds a special place because it can be made in many varieties and it is one of the most easiest dishes that can be prepared in a less time. This oats upma is a better version of the regular upma because oats are rich in a lot of nutrients. So this healthy upma can be enjoyed for breakfast/evening dinners.
