This recipe is very easy to make and only requires a handful of ingredients, javvarisi, sugar, milk and roasted nuts. I have added crushed cardamom to add flavor to the recipe and I have used a few strands of saffron to impart a nice color. The perfect payasam should have the sago cooked just right, if it is under-cooked they would be tough to chew and if cooked too much, the sago balls would be mushy.
