This #PaladaPayasam is made with rice ada, milk and sugar. Try out this easy #AdaPradhaman and share your feedback with us. Palada Payasam Recipe: Rice Ada - ½ Cup Water - 2 Cups Milk (full cream) - 1 litre Sugar - ½ Cup Condensed Milk - ¼ Cup Ghee - 1 tsp Cooking Instructions: 1. Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Turn off the heat and add the Ada. Cover with a lid and let it sit for 30 minutes. 2. In a pressure cooker, add the milk, sugar and ghee. Pressure cook on high flame for 1 whistle. Immediately after the first whistle, reduce the flame to low and cook for a further 20 minutes. 3. Strain the Ada and wash it until it is not sticky anymore. 4. Add the Ada to a pan along with the reduced milk. Cook for a further 15 minutes on medium flame, or until the mixture has reduced significantly. 5. Add the condensed milk and bring to a boil. Turn off the flame. Cooking Tips: 1. This dish tends to thicken as it cools. So, take it off the flame before it right reaches the desired consistency. 2. Ghee is not compulsory for this dish. We are adding this to prevent the milk from spilling out from the pressure cooker. 3. This dish traditionally involves hours of continuous stirring and cooking, which produces a characteristic pinkish colour from the caramelization of sugar.
