He was found to have a 2cm perihilar tumor located at the bifurcation on diagnostic imaging including an ERCP. He was found to have involvement at the bifurcation of the left hepatic duct. It was felt that the right hepatic duct was cleared, closer to the intraparenchymal right lobe of the liver and felt to possibly be resectable. This procedure begins with a diagnostic laparoscopy to rule out metastatic disease with the intent to resect the flat skin tumor with a left hepatectomy. |
