| Video Discription | We have recently seen a few great robotic Whipple videos here. I was impressed with how they were executed with ease and efficiency - and, of course, with excellent outcomes; a testament of how far we have come since 2000, when one ISRG share was just $2! It also made me curious to see how my approach and technique have changed since I did my first in March of 2007. So I dug through my collection and brought it out to review. Well, first of all, the video was digitized from VHS tapes so the quality was quite bad. Limited functions of the robotic system and availability of instruments then made the procedure look inefficient and dangerous. Although it may not have any educational value, it is still interesting to watch it from historical perspective - so I decided to post it here for young robotic surgeons (who might not know what VCR is) to view. |
