Til Chikki or Til Patti ( Sesame Brittle) :
Jaggery is a rich source of iron and protein. You can try making Til (sesame) Patti in winters at home. I m sure your family members and kids will definitely like it.
Ingredients :
* Til (sesame) - 1/4 cup
* Jaggery - 1/4 cup
* Ghee - 1 tea spoon.
* Pistachios and almonds to garnish
Procedure:
Clean the sesame seeds and cut the pistachios in small pieces.
Heat a heavy broad surface pan over a flame and put the sesame seeds in it. Roast the seeds on medium flame until they are brown. Do not over roast the seeds, else thay can become bitter in taste. Once the seeds are roasted well take them out on a plate, let them cool down
Pour 1 tea spoon ghee into the pan and melt the jaggery pieces into it. Once the jaggery is melted, keep cooking for 2-3 mins. To check the consistency whether the jaggery mixture is ready or not, put some mixture on glass surface n once its dry, it should break like as it shown in reel video.
Now Put the sesame seeds into it and mix well.
Spread the mixture on to greased parchment paper and cover it with another parchment paper and roll in to thin layer. The mixture should be still hot when you roll else you won’t be able to roll it out.
After the patti cools down pick up and break into desired shapes.
