Wash and clean the mushrooms. Cut them into slices and put in a bowl. 2. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, curd, fried onion, mint leaves, coriander leaves and mix well. 3. Let the mushrooms sit for 30 mins. 4. Take a wide pan, add oil and ghee. 5. Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise, bay leaves, fennel seeds and sliced onions. 6. Add slit green chillies and saute the onions until they are nicely browned. 7. Add sliced tomatoes, marinated mushrooms, mix well and cook for 5 mins. 8. Mix coconut milk and water in a bowl. Add it to the pan. 9. Check for seasoning and add salt/red chilli powder if required. 10. Once the water starts bubbling, add soaked basmati rice and cook on a medium flame for 20 mins. 11. Garnish the biryani with chopped coriander leaves and serve the biryani hot with raitha and gravy by the side.
