| Video Discription | Laparoscopic Nissen's procedure had been the procedure of choice for the treatment of troublesome GERD. Recently ; partial fundoplications such as Toupet's procedure is being more commonly used for this purpose as functional side effects are almost nil with similar reflux control rates. We also favor the use of Toupet's in the vast majority of the cases. Our tendency to use Toupet in favour of Nissen is based on our own experience in 1000 consecutive anti-reflux operations as reported previously. |
