| Video Discription | About this rarest Rodent Albinism is an inherited condition that leads to someone having very light skin, hair, and eyes. It happens because they have less melanin than usual in their body. Melanin gives skin, hair, and eyes their color. Except for vision problems, most people with albinism are just as healthy as anyone else Biologists estimate one in every 10,000 porcupines is albino. The animal is normally brown in color. In Pakistan, Porcupine is distributed in Punjab, Sindh, mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in steppe mountain regions of Baluchistan up to 2,750 m elevation Physical Description. On average, the Indian porcupine's head and body measure 70-90 centimeters (cm) in length, with the tail adding an additional 8-10 cm (Prater 1965). Its hair is highly modified to form multiple layers of spines. Beneath the longer, thinner spines lies a layer of shorter and thicker ones.The Indian Crested Porcupine has a head and body length can range from 23 to 36 inches; tail length from 3 to 6 inches, and weight from 22 to 66 pounds.
