Running Sao Paulo's most attractive hotel has been a long-nurtured ambition of the Fasano family, backed by more than 100 years of proven talent in providing the city's best cuisine. Fasano Sao Paulo and Restaurant resulted from a partnership between Rogerio Fasano and Joao Paulo Diniz. The design by Isay Weinfeld and Marcio Kogan is an audacious recreation of the 1930s style. The elegant architecture combines contemporary design with a classical wealth of detail, such as period furniture and English brickwork on the facade. The Hotel houses two of Mark's icons, Fasano, rated South America's best restaurant for Italian cuisine, and the Baretto Bar, a cozy space for cool music and jazz of the highest international standards. The Hotel is located in Sao Paulo's most elegant neighborhood, Jardins, strategically positioned between Avenida Paulista and Faria Lima. Nearby stores include Emporio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Bulgari, and Cartier.
Designed to provide space and comfort, there are 60 rooms spread over 20 floors. All 50 apartments and 10 suites enjoy a fine view of Sao Paulo. The latest technology is deftly combined with subtle but stylish decor, such as linen curtains, Persian Kilim rugs, king-size beds with 500-thread Egyptian cotton sheets, and goose-feather pillows. Room decor also includes Venetian framed pictures and Murano vases.
Since 1982, Fasano has developed cuisine in which the classical basis is constantly seasoned with imagination. It has won more awards than any other restaurant in Sao Paulo and sets the highest standards as a watershed in the city's gastronomic history. Located on the ground floor of Hotel Fasano, its enduring promise is to blend novelties for the palate with the best tradition's fundamentals. Rogerio Fasano is responsible for maintaining the venue's unmistakable personality and ensuring excellence for the cuisine, which is inspired by flavors from the different parts of Italy, with incursions into the classic menus of Italian regional cuisine. The refined and knowledgeable Manoel Beato manages the wine cellar. Traditional Barlos has joined the most splendid Chateaux, and Brunnellos prospected personally by the Sommelier and Rogerio Fasano on visits to Piemonte and Toscana. The restaurant seats 80, and there is a private room for up to 26 people.
Open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Nonno Ruggero is on the first floor of the hotel, with a pleasant balcony looking out over Rua Vittorio Fasano and the Jardins area. The informal setting is Rogerio Fasano's interpretation of a genuine Italian Trattoria. There is the option of a salad and antipasto buffet for lunch, and the menu features hot dishes such as Costoletta Alla Milanese or Raviolini di Mozzarella di Bufala al Pomodoro e Basilico.
With spectacular views over Sao Paulo, the hotel's top floor is three floors exclusively for fitness and relaxation. An impressive heated swimming pool, two Ofuro baths, dry and steam sauna, rare Hans Wegner loungers, five massage rooms with therapy provided by the renowned Luiza Sato, and an extremely well-equipped fitness room.
