| Video Discription | Gaijin means foreigner in Japanese. Although I was born and raised in Japan, you can tell by my face I am very much a Gaijin. As foreigners from the United States we had to first get permission to get married from the US government at the US Embassy in Tokyo. The second step required us to travel to Maebashi City Hall to fill out the marriage certificate (Kon in Todoke). Maebashi is where Eli was born and has residency. The marriage process for foreigners was relatively simple, except it was all in Japanese. We decided to have a ceremony and reception at Lake Nojiriko. This location was chosen by Eli for its sentimental significance. Eli spent a lot of time here with his family and friends and considers this place to be his home in Japan. It was the perfect location to share this special day with our family and friends. |
