| Video Discription | I have had a DJI Pocket siren late 2019 and a SNOPPA Vmate since perhaps May 2020. I had a chance to find a bracket to mount both Gimbal cameras and walk on the streets of Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China (the Free China). In May of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan wasn't that bad and, as a result, I still can walk on street without any issues and many people still wore their masks. I mounted SNOPPA VMate and the DJI Pocket on that bracket and walk on the streets of Taipei. Consequently, I had had so many video clips of both cameras. This is the first one, comparing the VMate and the Pocket. It is your decision, though. I chose daylight, indoor and night scenes, but there were not many sunny days in Taipei during the time I was doing the test (Monsoon season?). Even though there were sunny days, I did not have both cameras with me. What a pity! However, these compiled clips should be good enough for representing the major characteristics of both cameras. I found that the SNOPPA Vmate was not ready for the prime time even though they raced to put the Gimbal camera on the market earlier than FIMI, Feiyu, etc. Even though the camera was calibrated before its use, the camera can tilted up or down or even rotated left or right in an expected way. It is in general reacting slower than than the DJI Pocket. Worse yet, the Gimbal of VMate was not fast enough or reacting slow enough so that the its camera wasn't pointing to the same direction of that of the DJI Pocket. The Pocket was not perfect. However, it performed better than the VMate. One more last words: The VMate has a rather poor performance in night shots even though the VMate and Pocket did not show much difference.. The images and videos from VMate had more noises than those images/videos from the Pocket. Finally, I don't see many places where VMate can be found or purchased. If I have to make a decision, if you can afford a Pocket (now Pocket 2), get it as it is a better option. I will have other video clips showing the issues of the VMate. Please stay tuned! those |
