| Video Discription | The start of an 800 km (500 mile) thru hike of the Vancouver Island Trail which runs from the northern tip to the southern tip of Vancouver Island. This is the most rugged long distance trail I have ever attempted and I know it will deliver beautiful moments and extremely challenging moments. For this thru hike I have a hiking partner with me the whole time, my husband Brian! It was meaningful for me to get to start, and hopefully finish, a thru hike with him. He has only ever joined me for parts of my long distance hikes before. It was also incredibly meaningful that I am venturing out to hike the length of the island I have called home my whole life.
