Eight-cylinder engines have been produced in various configurations, including, side-valve, Intake-over-exhaust, overhead-valve, sleeve-valve, and overhead-cam configurations. V8 Engine: Each configuration has its own advantages and disadvantages and has been used in different applications depending on the specific needs of the vehicle. For example, overhead-valve and overhead-cam configurations are commonly used in high-performance sports cars, while side-valve configurations were popular in early automobiles. Sleeve-valve engines were also used in some luxury cars in the early 20th century. A V8 engine is an eight-cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration. V8 engines are known for their power and smooth operation. The V shape of the engine allows it to be more compact than an inline eight-cylinder engine, while still providing ample power. The even number of cylinders also ensures that the engine is balanced, reducing vibrations and providing a smoother ride.
