Plus, we've also shared the only and most popular Recipe to make the Urrak Cocktail for the best and most refreshing flavor and taste ππ ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π How is Cashew Feni made from Urrak ? π Urrak is made out of the first distillation of the cashew apple. When you put Urrak in the same pot and repeat the same process/distillation again then Feni is produced. ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π Detailed description of Urrak π Urrak, is fermented cashew juice distilled just once and is one of the most popular drinks in Goa to beat the summer heat. It may not be as strong as feni, when it comes to alcoholic content, but urrak can get you intoxicated even before you know it. Cashew Feni might be the more famous Goan brew, distilled from the cashew apple, but Urrak-the fruit's first distillate-is the drink of choice for Goans in the summer months. Urak is distilled only from March to May, the cashew fruit-bearing season. It has a fruity and mildly pungent aroma and flavor; it's certainly an acquired taste. But it's light and refreshing, and the cashew apple season coincides with the weather heating up, so it's like the stars align to give Goans a drink to beat the heat. Approx price of Urrak ranges from Rs. 50 to Rs. 500 per liter π What is 'Niro'? π Unknown to many, the unsung drink Niro, is the last remaining juice of the cashew fruit, which is drawn by placing a large stone on pile of fruit already squeezed for juice. Clear, non alcoholic and extremely delicious and the fact that it is difficult to obtain, is one of the reasons which makes niro one of the most sought after drinks during summer. In normal circumstances, you would have to trek to a cashew distillery to buy niro and because it is easily perishable, it certainly isn't available at the store nearest to you. π What is GI tag? π Geographical indication is an indication which identifies a product as originating from a particular geographical area, where a given quality, reputation or other characteristic of the product is attributable to its geographicalΒ origin.Β Β Β Β Β For example, GI tag has been awarded to a number of products or goods, including the famous Darjeeling Tea and Madhubani Paintings. For those who might feel this process is a little dirty and unhygienic π We understand you feeling this way and it's Okay But we just want to share that, When fruit and plant materials ferment, a dilute version of alcohol is produced. Distilling the fermented material purifies and effectively removes all inorganic and foreign material from the alcohol. The resulting alcohol is pure from any impurities and dirt. The boiling process also kills microorganisms such as bacteria and some viruses.
