| Video Discription | All of us have hair all over the body but in certain area unwanted hair can be a major problem especially in women. The most common area where women have unwanted hair is the face unwanted facial hair, among that upper lip hair is very commonly seen especially in Indian rays. In some conditions it can be due to hormonal problems where thick hairs are present almost looking like male hair. Whereas in other conditions fine hairs are present which are still bothersome to the patient. So how do you get rid of upper lip hair, there are various method done by in a beautician beauty parlour, methods like a shaving, waxing, trading there are other permanent methods of hair removal like lights and Laser. As a Dermatologist we routinely recommend lights and lasers permanent hair removal or hair reduction. Why we call it has hair reduction is that because we cannot guarantee that all the hair would be removed but visible all the hair is removed to patient satisfaction. Generally when we perform lasers we choose the type of laser and the frequency of laser depending on the patient skin type. A patient with fair skin and dark or black hair is Ideal laser for patient. A patient with darker skin might develop certain reactions to laser. Therefore we start them at lower energy laser and then go on to higher energy laser. Generally it takes about 4 months to noticed significant improvement and hair reduction and another 4 to 6 months for complete reduction in hair. If a person is having hormonal problems like PCOD then the hormonal problem keeps making their hair grow back repeatedly and therefore should be treated separately with the help of a gynaecologist or an Endocrinologist. |
