| Video Discription | In December 1969, Manson Family member Susan Atkins testified before the grand jury in the Tate/LaBianca murder investigation. Days after her testimony helped successfully indict several killers along with Charles Manson, Susan's public defenders brokered a deal for their client to tell her story. Journalist Lawrence Schiller interviewed Susan about the night that Sharon Tate and her friends were brutally killed, as well as the events of the following night, when a married couple in the Los Angeles area were also targeted by Manson and his followers. The interview was supposed to be sent to European newspapers, for stories that would run overseas after the trial was over. Proceeds of the sale would be split between Schiller, the defenders, and Susan. But on December 14th, Susan's Story was front and center in the Sunday edition of the Los Angeles Times. Two weeks later, a quickie paperback was issued, crediting Susan's story to Lawrence Schiller. And Susan never received her share of the proceeds. Author H.
