Kokborok Day is celebrated in the state every year on 19th January to commemorate its recognition of ‘Kokborok’ as an official language in 1979. Kokborok is a native language of Tripura spoken for thousands of years among the Tripuri community. The main program was organized at the Umakanta mini stadium in Agartala. Donned in traditional attires; hundreds of youth from different indigenous communities of Tripura attended the festival.
