| Video Discription | This is our preferred trabeculectomy technique as performed my one of my fellows under my supervision. In this case, the procedure was performed in the superonasal quadrant. Limbal landmarks are important in scleral flap creation. The steps performed here are to create a posterior non-cystic diffuse bleb. Mitomycin-C is injected after opening of tissue in a controlled fashion. Injecting prior to opening conjunctival leads to swelling and hydration of Tenons and makes smooth dissection more challenging. Handling of Tenons is critical to achieving optimal bleb morphology. |
