| Video Discription | TMC’s veteran leader Tapas Roy has quit the party and has resigned from position of MLA as well. Speculations are there that he might join BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Tapas Roy is TMC MLA from Baranagar and Deputy Chief in West Bengal Assembly. Now, the twist in the story comes here that earlier in January of this year, the Enforcement Directorate had searched the residence of Tapas Roy. This was in connection with the alleged irregularities in the civic body recruitment. When this raid had happened at Tapas Roy’s residence, leaders like Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Naushad Siddiqui and Sajal Ghosh were seen extending support to Tapas Roy. The no leaders of TMC stood by Tapas Roy during that time. Tapas Roy has recently given a statement that CM Mamata Banerjee mentioned about Shahjahan Sheikh in the state assembly, but didn’t mention about the raid at his house. He further goes on saying that Mamata Banerjee didn’t call him even once in these 52 days after the ED raid. Just two days ago, Tapas Roy named Calcutta North MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay as the one responsible for the raid at his residence.
