| Video Discription | RevoLixHTL™ is a hybrud Thulium YAG laser working at continuous or pulse wave. For lithotripsy a pulsed wave is mandatory. There are 3 parameters to be defined: Power (W), Frequency (Hz) and Effect (pulse duration and pulse peak power). This means there is a high variation of settings and this variability makes this laser versatile. Still though, it maybe difficult in the beginning understand which are the best settings. Depending on the clinical scenario, the Surgeon can begin with pre-settings and adjust accordingly the parameters depending on the tissue or stone reaction. In this video we show the settings that we usually use during bladder lithotripsy. Bladder stones are voluminous and very hard to break. On the other hand, the bladder and the instrument used (resectoscope with a high floe irrigation) offer the ideal situation to test the different laser effects on the stone by modifying the parameters. This is a way to understand better how this laser works and how the modification of the parameters may change the effect. |
