| Video Discription | Thrissur Pooram festival in Thrissur district of Kerala, India is considered as the mother of all festivals in Kerala. In fact, it's India's largest and most beautiful elephant festival of South India. This is a world famous cultural festival held every year at the Thekkinkadu Maidan parade ground of Vadakkunnathan Shiva Temple in Thrissur city centre. People from all parts of Kerala unite together to experience the Pooram ambience of light, colour, music, fireworks and the elephants. Thiruvambady devaswom and Paramekkavu devaswom are the key conductors of this biggest cultural festival of Kerala. The elephant parade with the famous elephant in Kerala grabs the cmassenter of attraction. After the pandemic restrictions, Thrissur Pooram 2024 is getting its Pooram vibes back to the pooram lovers in Kerala with over 50 elephants. As usual, 2024 Thrissur Pooram festival is also participated by the famous elephants in Kerala like [ Ernakulam Sivakumar, Thiruvambadi Kannan, Pampady Sundaran, Kadekachal Ganeshan, Puthuppally Sadhu, Amrithapuri Raman Uttoly, Choisons Ambadi Kannan, Olayambadi Manikandan, Olayambadi Badran, Cheriyaparambathu Gopal, Akkikavu Karthikeyan, Kuttankulangara Arjunan, Parannur Nandan, ] making it the most beautiful temple festival in Kerala. The main elephants carry the deity and enter the Vadakkunnathan temple. The elephant entry is grabbing attention with the famous temple elephant in Kerala. The well decorated elephants with golden ornamental coverings ( Nettipattam ) makes it a memorable mass entry of elephants in Thrissur Pooram. 15 elephants parade in line on both sides by facing each other to prepare for the famous Kudamattam ceremony. The beauty of Thrissur Pooram Kudamattam is all about the exchange of colourful umbrellas on top of the elephants by both the devaswom. Hence Thrissur Pooram festival is also recognized as the biggest Indian elephant festival in the world. Ilanjithara Melam and Madathil Varavu are two important ceremonies of Pooram festival. Madathil Varavu is the stepping out of two deities of Thiruvambadi temple in a glorious procession to the Vadakkumnathan temple on the Pooram day. Ilanjithara Melam ceremony is an assembly of percussion performance artists where traditional Kerala instrumental music grabs the show.
