He has directed the series Kolangal, Madhavi, Pokkisham, Chithram Pesuthadi. He was born in Nadiam, Peravurani taluk, Thanjavur district. He has 2 sisters. He is the last son.He studied up to class five in his hometown Nadiam and then up to class ten in Devakottai D. Brito High School and completed Plus Two in Board Bishop's School. After that he studied Tanjore Boondi College B.Sc., Physics. MA, studied at Annamalai University by post.Interested in the arts, he joined the Chennai Film Training College in 1988 and graduated in 1991. After that he worked as a sound engineer for five years. He worked in the Sujatha Dubbing Theater and in the recording studio where Ilayaraja composes music at the Prasad Studio. He has worked as a sound engineer in over a hundred films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. He also worked as an associate director on the Met TV sound TV series directed by Thirumurugan. In the same series, the groom made his acting debut as Santosh. After that he got a good name in acting. He first made his directorial debut in the series Kolangal, produced by Vikatan Cinematography. He co-starred with Devayani in this series. Tiruchelvam is the owner of many such glories. His movement is a favorite of many.
