| Video Discription | The terrible and treacherous Pendragon plans to gain the throne of Cornwall by getting the king to abdicate and to marry his lovely daughter. To help him he has his dreadful witches in his castle and his almost unstoppable sorcery. A giant under his control abducts the princess, but on the way home with her the giant meets farming lad Jack who slays him. This is only the beginning. Be assured Pendragon and his evil magic are far from done. 1962 Family Fantasy and Adventure Film (Stop-motion Animation) A fairy tale story about a young man who defends a princess against a sorcerer's giants and demons. The film is loosely based on the traditional tale "Jack the Giant Killer" and features extensive use of stop-motion animation. Director: Nathan Juran Stars: Kerwin Mathews, Judi Meredith, & Torin Thatcher Trivia: Director Nathan Juran won an Academy Award for art direction on How Green Was My Valley. In the 1950s, He handled mostly low-budget westerns and sci-fi opuses, his most famous (or infamous) being Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (which he filmed under the name "Nathan Hertz"). On the other hand, he was also responsible for the superb fantasy adventure The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. In the early 1960s, he journeyed to Europe, where he spent several years piloting adventure epics and spaghetti westerns.
