He was born at a time when the Egyptian Pharaoh was afraid of the growing number of Israelites, so he ordered that all Israelite baby boys should be thrown into the river. Moses' mother wanted to save him, so she placed him in a basket and put it in the river. Miraculously, Pharaoh's daughter found the basket and adopted Moses as her own son. As Moses grew up, he learned about his true identity and the suffering of his people. He felt a strong connection to the Israelites. One day, he saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite, and in anger, he ended up killing the Egyptian. Moses had to flee from Egypt to avoid being punished. He went to the land of Midian, where he married and had a family. There, God spoke to Moses from a burning bush and told him to return to Egypt to free the Israelites. With God's guidance and power, Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. That is what we call the Exodus right now. He performed miracles, like parting the Red Sea, to help them escape. Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai and guided the Israelites through their journey in the wilderness. Moses' story teaches us about courage, leadership, and how God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things in the Old Testament.
