So today I thought i'd show you how to make the ultimate steak and onion sandwich. Now, it's completely up to you what steak you use, but ribeye is my favourite because it has a nice marbling of fat running through it, which is going to keep it tender and juicy. For the sandwich i'm also going to show you how to make some simple, sweet and tangy caramelised onions, which will go brilliantly with the steak. Caramelised onions are actually really easy to make, and go so well in a steak and onion sandwich. It's just onions, braised down with vinegar and sugar. I'm using balsamic vinegar because it goes really nice and sticky, butred wine vinegar would work as well. I'm also going to top my bread with a simple mustard mayonnaise. By adding hot English mustard to the mayo, you just take it back a step, meaning it's not so aggressive and in your face. Don;t get me wrong, I love English mustard, but for this I want that mustard flavour, but not too much of the heat. To make my ultimate steak and onion sandwich you will need: ►250g piece of ribeye steak ►2 medium onions ►About 100ml of balsamic vinegar ►2-3 tbsp of soft brown sugar ►1 garlic clove ►Small knob of butter ►4-5 little gem lettuce leaves ►1-2 tsp of English mustard ►About 1 tbsp of mayonnaise ►Salt & pepper ►2 thick slices of white bloomer bread ►Olive oil 𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 ★ Facebook - adamseatschannel ★ Twitter - @adamseats ★ Instagram - adamseats ★ Pinterest - adamseatsyt |
