In this video of worth the money, I’m going to be talking about whether the Exotics Racing Supercar Track Driving Experience in Las Vegas is worth it or not and what you need to know if you’re about to plan your experience.
Let me start by saying the experience at exotics racing is a la carte and so everyone’s experience can be pretty different from the next depending on the cars you choose to drive and the budget you have in mind for the time you plan to spend at the exotics racing track, which they call the playground. They have drift ride alongs which you can always add to your experience while you are there, where you can sit with a pro drifter for a few laps around the track in a dodge hellcat which you can hear in the first 30 seconds in the video of me driving the Porsche GT3 RS. They also have a go-kart track if you’re interested in that too, the go-karts are quite a bit faster than your average go-karts, they can go up to about 45-50 mph as it was explained to me. They start off with a 10-15 minute classroom session to show you the track and give a quick layout of the 7 turns and show you the proper racing line to get the fastest lap times. Then they take you out on the track for 2 discovery laps to give you the on track perspective of what they showed you in the classroom. The first lap is a very laid back lap explaining the turns again and how to approach each 1. The second lap is to show you the same thing, but almost at the speed you will be driving. I drove 5 cars the day that I went to exotics racing. I booked the 4 cars that I definitely wanted to drive about 4-5 weeks in advance of when I was planning to be there. On my track day, after I drove all 4 cars that I had planned, I decided to add a 5th car to the mix as the 1 add-on that I might add if I was really enjoying the experience. So here’s a summary of the 5 cars in the order that I drove them. I drove the Mercedes AMG GTR first, then the Lamborghini Huracan second, the Porsche GT3 RS third, then the Ferrari F8 Tributo fourth. I was supposed to drive the Ferrari 488 Pista, but it was experiencing some mechanical issues a couple of days before I got there, so exotics racing emailed me and switched me to the Ferrari F8 Tributo and added 2 laps for me for the same price. After I drove all 4 cars I booked, I added the Acura NSX since I was curious about how it drove compared to the other cars which had a lot more horsepower and better specs on paper. I’m glad I ended up driving it because it gave me the second best lap time out of everything I drove. Keep in mind that part of what you’re paying for is the guidance from the instructors that sit in the car with you. They were giving me guidance every step of the way to get the most out of each car while I was on the track which you’ll be able to see from my videos in each of the cars which I’ll link in the description and as a pinned comment. You can check out my experience as I wasn’t holding back in any of the 5 cars I drove and see if that’s something you would enjoy too.
The whole experience for me, while not taking too many long breaks between switching to the next car was about 3.5 hours to maybe 4 hours total. There are 4 main things to keep in mind before booking your experience. The first thing you need to know is, you should consider getting the on-board video add on for $49 so you can see how you did after your experience is over. The second is I would book at least 1 or 2 cars in advance to make sure you can definitely drive them while you’re there and you can always add on cars later depending on how much you enjoy driving the cars you booked. The third point to note is that if you call to book your reservation, you can get more accurate recommendations on what cars drive well and balance that between your budget to get the most out of your experience. The fourth thing to know is that a good track time in any of the cars is under 1 minute. If you can get into the cars after both the classroom overview and the discovery laps and get under 1 minute, you should be able to get around the same track times I did or even faster. The BEST lap times are actually under 50 seconds from what I saw on the leaderboards.
