Andrea, riding her scooter nearby, asks if she can try putting her scooter in the pool. Ellie and Uncle give her the thumbs up, and they watch as the scooter sinks underwater. They experiment further, pushing a Minnie Mouse house and a shopping cart into the pool, which float and sink respectively. Curious, Ellie and the others go around the house to find various objects, like a Rubik's cube, a doll, an ice cream truck, and a hammer, to test if they will float or sink. They conduct a series of experiments and react to the results. Ellie wonders why things sink or float, but Uncle doesn't know the answer. They decide to visit Professor Jim, whose workshop is filled with intriguing scientific equipment.
