| Video Discription | The 1955 Nash lineup started with the Rambler, then Statesman, Ambassador Six, and the Ambassador Eight, The Nash Statesman models included a four door Custom sedan, Custom Country Club hardtop coupe, and this four door Statesman Super which had a base price of $ 2,215. Beginning in 1949, the Nash automobiles were built with unitizied-bodies. On May 1st of 1954, Nash and Hudson merged to form American Motors. President George Mason had hoped to bring Studebaker and Packard into the merger, but he passed away before this could be accomplished. In 1954, Nash introduced a low-priced automobile air conditioning system for mass market autos which was the basis for all modern auto air conditioning systems. Previous systems had filled half of the trunk with equipment. The Nash Statesman was the company's lower priced version of the Nash automobiles. For 1955, power was through a 195.6 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine capable of producing 100 horsepower. A larger, dual carburetor version was available, bringing horsepower to 110. There were ten paint choices this year for Nash and this well preserved example is finished in Snowberry White over Palomino Brown.
