| Video Discription | Kheer is known as payasam in Tamil. This moong dal kheer is made of coconut milk, jaggery and roasted moong dal with nuts and roasted coconut for garnish. Make this pasi paruppu payasam for any festival or celebration or even when you feel like having a dessert! Simple to make, with no white sugar or milk, this moong dal coconut kheer is just what everyone will love! Roast 1/2 cup moong dal on medium heat. Roast continuously until it turns dark brown. Transfer to a plate. Wash the roasted dal well Add 1.5 cups of water to1 dal and cook. Allow 3 to 4 whistles. Extract coconut milk from a small coconut / 2 cups grated coconut Add 1.5 cups water to the grated coconut to extract milk Add 1 cups jaggery to cooked dal Heat and sauté until jaggery dissolves Stir continuously else jaggery may stick to the bottom. After it melts Add coconut milk.
