We’re Animator Supporters, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the lives of financially struggling Japanese animators through the help of anime fans. One of our initiatives at Animator Supporters is creating high-paying jobs through the creation of original anime, and our first anime, a music video called “Back to You,” was recently completed! -------------------------------- We at Animator Supporters would like to give a big shoutout to Mason Lieberman and Caleb Hyles, as well as all 24 musicians on the Western side of the world who donated their skills to this project. Thanks to them and everyone who helped fund this project, we were able to pay our animators our highest goal of 180 dollars per keyframe which is 2~4 times more than the industry standard. This was Animator Supporters’ first attempt at making a music video, and we used this film as a way to train some of our new animators while making it, so from a technical standpoint, we feel that it has some shortcomings. That said, we still feel that it’s a charming piece of animation. Our plan moving forward is to sustainably create about 1 music video per year as we spend some time gathering the personnel and know-how to open up a studio of our own, which will cater to the needs of its creators. Now, as the next step toward that goal, we’re partnering with voice actress Aya Hirano who you might know as Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucy Heartfillia from FAIRY TAIL to create our second music video where she’ll be joining us as a vocalist.
