Teaching kids math starts with their knowledge of the numbers in general, they should know how to count in the correct order before they move forward to the point where they could add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Multiplication and times tables educate the kids to handle some mathematical operations which they will face during their math lessons. In this educational video, the times table that we are going to focus on for the kids to know about is for the number two. What will be the answer if two is multiplied by all the other numbers?
Multiplication is the process of counting the number for a couple of times that will always depend on the times table number used - two in this scenario. In this example and since the multiplication times table here is two, the number should be counted two times; counting 2+2 will give you the same answer as 2x2 which will be 4, counting 3+3 will be the same as 3x2 which will be 6, and so on.
Taking all the numbers in turn, 2 times table will be stated as follows:
1 x 2 = 2
2 x 2 = 4
3 x 2 = 6
4 x 2 = 8
5 x 2 = 10
6 x 2 = 12
7 x 2 = 14
8 x 2 = 16
9 x 2 = 18
10 x 2 = 20
The multiplication table for number two could keep moving forward to a never ending phase, but since this is a video to educate those at KS1 and KS2, multiplying until number 10 is considered more than enough to let the kids understand how the whole process happens and let them understand the multiplication table related to number two.
The same technique used with times table two will be followed with the other numbers as well. Counting 4+4+4+4 is the same as multiplying 4x4 which will end up giving the same answer. Kids should understand this part, which is that multiplication and addition are similar but instead of adding a lot of numbers together, multiplication make it easier with just multiplying two numbers by one another.
There are other videos on our channel which are about the other numbers and their times tables, which your kids could also check and learn from. You will find three times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77gEdEUShiY), four times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZbNl0RutB0), five times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqlsUhAzHpY), six times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GwAN7tYpe4), seven times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRXskRkWkQ4), eight times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtPHMGeuj_s), nine times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA9UdpBgq4w) and ten times table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCM-gRanPq0).
The methods and techniques used in teaching the kids to multiply might differ from one parent or teacher to the other, so you could get some ideas about teaching your kid how to multiply (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKom4XkX7-8). Multiplication is not hard, but the kids should understand it first and know how it should be done then they will realize that it was never a difficult journey from the beginning.
Some of the ways used to teach the kids multiplication and at the same time play with them, there is the aerobics method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hICAoEIcLE), there is also the method of counting on the dots (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvJRIK60idA), there is the multiplication taught in the ordinary old ways on the white board (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13LmvlsiwOw) and all these come in addition to the multiplication that depends on some toys like the Lego pieces and counting on them, which is sometimes referred to as "double addition" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPW1bmLTFdA).
Math is always a challenging and exciting lesson to learn, it gives the children the chance to use their minds and think instead of always going the easy way and memorizing what they might be viewing in front of them - which is considered one of the worst things a child could do because it will make the brain unable to think and solve problems later on in the needed way.
This is all what the kid will need to know about 2 times table, so enjoy watching this video along with your kids, make use of the methods we have suggested, and let us hear back from you about your feedback.
