There are different nursery rhymes for kids that are used to make them more excited, fill their time, and sometimes they are used for some educational purposes. The most important thing to be paid attention to when it comes to those rhymes is to use ones with positive meanings behind and make sure that they are not directing the mind of the kid to something not wanted.
In this educational video, there are different nursery songs that we have brought to the kids and the first one is the "Two Little Dicky Birds". The lyrics of this song says:
Two little dicky birds sitting on the wall,
One named Peter and one named Paul.
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul,
Come back Peter, come back Paul.
The second nursery song we managed to bring to the kids through this video is called "Mary Had a Little Lamb". You will most probably find these songs recognized among all the children because these are the ones mostly used by parents and teachers. The lyrics of this nursery song is:
Mary had a little lamb,
It's fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day,
That was against the rules.
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.
These kids songs and rhymes which parents use at home and which teachers also depend on in schools and nurseries are important because as much as they make the kids interested and happy while listening to them, they also help to develop an ear to the language which they are going to speak with.
In addition to the help these rhymes offer to the kids to develop their language, these rhymes and rhythms help the kids to hear the sounds and the syllables of the words and thus are considered helpful when it comes to giving the kids the chance to read later on and even spell out the words correctly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIylRqK7NsI).
Some of the rhymes used for children are not only those which give them the chance to listen to the words and recognize them later on, but they also ask them to do some movements and this is considered one of the effective ways to teach the kids some specific movements and how to do them.
The kids' songs used at home might not carry the same meanings as those used in nursery, because when the kids are at the nursery and sing these rhymes among a group of children, they start to consider themselves part of a social group, which will help them in the future to communicate and deal with people.
There are lots of benefits for these nursery rhymes for kids, but the most important thing of all, is to not let them get used to these songs because the benefits might at this point be considered risks. Always make sure that you are choosing the right songs for your kids and if they didn't like them, keep searching until their ears love what they are listening to, and also make sure that the meanings of the songs are acceptable for kids at their early stages of life.
There are other nursery rhymes which kids might like and fall in love with, such as Old Mother Hubbard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KaqDCPF-CM), Ten in a Bed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZC_ScHpCg8), Five Little Monkeys (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6QCcRZK2yU), Hush Little Baby (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpXJFPK5ckE), This Little Piggy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itCWrND93dw) and many others, some of these might be songs that help the kids with the general things we have mentioned about listening to the songs, others might be related to teaching the kids numbers or letters, and there are some rhymes which are used for teaching the kids general information.
Choose the right type of songs and rhymes for your kids, let them learn something useful out of these songs, let them sing along with their friends at the nursery and the school, sing along with them if needed, and finally make sure that these songs are actually helping them and not doing the other thing around.
Enjoy watching and listening to these rhymes along with your kids and let us hear you singing out loud to know that they turned to be effective and loved :-)
