<h2></h2><h2><strong>What is DistroTube?</strong></h2>
DistroTube (DT) is a YouTube channel started by me, Derek Taylor (also DT), in October 2017 and was initially focused on Linux distribution installations and reviews.  In 2019, I also started publishing my videos on Odysee (LBRY) which is a free and open source video platform.  As the channel grows and I mature in my role as a content creator, I am spending more time on other Linux-related topics as well, including: app reviews, terminal and command line tutorials, desktop environment and window manager tutorials, Linux news, advocating for the free software movement, and sometimes the occasional live stream event.  I would also like to broaden the scope of this channel to include more hardware-related videos and tutorials.  <br>

<strong>What you get for helping?</strong></h2>First, know that it is because of <span style="color: rgb(192, 80, 77);"><strong>your</strong></span> <strong><span style="color: rgb(192, 80, 77);">help</span></strong> that the channel will grow in quality, volume and viewership.  Second, every patron will have his or her name added to the closing credits of my videos.  Also, because of the community support that I receive from patrons like yourself, I am not as beholden to corporate sponsors or ad revenue, which is a good place to be in as a content creator.  For example, if YouTube ceased to exist tomorrow, I would still have the peace of mind knowing that I still have my patrons.  And I could still afford to make this content, and put it on another video platform.<br>
