Hi, I’m Ashton.&nbsp;A former teacher and architectural researcher with a PhD in Human Geography…. You can say, I like studying communities and I do that by examining how humans across the globe have shaped them.&nbsp;And as someone who has lived, studied and worked in both the United States and in Germany, I especially love the juxtaposition of how differences in everyday life manifest themselves from one country to another.&nbsp;From macro-economics down to micro-urbanism, I explore and explain the political economics, society, and culture that shapes the world around you…. And I share all of this through my personal lens of an immigrant navigating that world with you.&nbsp;&nbsp;WHY?In sharing our stories online, I have loved the connecting with other individuals and families that also have a shared interest in a life pursued "between two worlds".But so often, I can't simply say it ALL in just 20-25 minutes.So as this community grows, I wanted to offer a platform to connect, share and learn more from each other without the constraints of a comments box:<ul><li>What topics/data from each video were left on "the editing room floor", but are insightful for understanding the theme?</li><li>What is happening in current events &amp; culture between the USA and Germany that could change the trajectory of future discussion?</li><li>What do YOU REALLY think about these every-day-issues and how does our own position as American immigrants color our perception?</li></ul>By starting this Patreon, I hope to create a platform where our members can not only support our channel and content creation - but where I can also provide a deeper connection and detailed discussion on the topics that I cover each week.I sincerely appreciate your support and thank you helping me to do-what-I-do.Ashton
