PORTLAND, Ore. — Though the Portland-Vancouver metro area didn't see a widespread snow event Tuesday night, the West Hills and other high-elevation areas and parts of Clark County in southwest Washington did get some sticking snow overnight, with a dusting to 3 inches reported in some areas.
Other areas saw mostly rain or a wintry mix. As the snow event passes, Wednesday looks to be a wet day, with rain hitting most areas and the snow levels creeping back up to about 1,500 feet.

Many people across the Portland area and up into southwest Washington are experiencing power outages. As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, PGE is reporting about 9,500 customers without power, Pacific Power nearly 1,000 and Clark County about 5,500.

One person, Jewel Jernstedt, reached out to KGW and said part of a tree broke off and landed on their family's shed, house and vehicle at Oak Acres Mobile Home Park off Highway 212 in Happy Valley. Jernstedt said they got a lot of wind and rain overnight.
Coast range highways had snow Wednesday morning but with temperatures rising, most highways should show improving driving conditions through the day. Through the Gorge, Interstate 84 is mostly wet.
In the northern Oregon Cascades, a blizzard warning continues through 4 p.m. Wednesday.
