Lol I had a dream last month that someone made a map like this and Camodo reviewed it, it even had a similar abandonned city but in the dream it was less ruined and had actual asphalt roads, and there were also crossroads sections. Now someone has to make a drivable KarL lol
I think it’s because the Long Drive has textures like that, and I’m pretty sure that’s why the cars are kinda low-poly, too
The reason why the terrain can be like that is because when you make a map this big, you have to scale up the terrain. I used 4096 x 4096 because it's the easiest to work with. (trust me, I've used 8192 x 8192, it's S L O W) But when you scale it up (I did by 4x, so that makes the 4km into 16km.) which in turn will cause the terrain to become more blurry because of the terrain's texture resolution. This could've been reduced by using 8192 x 8192 terrain but then it's really laggy to work with. So 4096 x 4096 is the perfect middle ground between quality and performance. Hope this answered your question about the terrain. The cars however are made to be more low poly because of the long drive.
nice, also i recommend you to import the abandoned ships of the desert expanse map (if you havent already) and put them instead of the original abandoned ships in the long drive that you can find barrels in them. but a pretty cool map! --- Post updated --- that much of a number + 6969696969/10
