“I'd heard of Lisa before but didn't know her backstory. A friend of mine recently sent me a link to a video where Lisa told her story of being belittled and demeaned for the very things she ended up embracing as her path/purpose. I very much resonate with her story and then some. The video also focused on not letting others dim your light, which was so poignant for me to hear, at this time in my life. As a 40-year-old successful entrepreneur in a similar field as Lisa is (author, motivational speaker, etc,), my perspective has been shifting since my recent diagnosis of Stage 3 Liver Disease. More than just the obvious messages, I also gleaned a confirmation on a perspective I'd been entertaining for a while now. That, at the end of my life, I can say it was fun to build my own empire, but what I'll remember the most, is how I affected someone else's life for the better. It could be a single word, a random act of kindness, a conversation, or just acknowledgment. Regardless of how it happens, if I can look back and reflect on all the people I helped along my journey, that will be forefront in my mind and will be my source of contentment as I leave this earthly existence.
