| Video Discription | Hello friends! Last Wednesday I promised I would share some of my favourite cookbooks for plant based and vegan recipes. Here are my favourites in the order I present them in the video. Any one of these would make a fantastic Christmas or birthday present to the foodie in your life or someone who is looking to improve their health and eat less animal products. 1. Thug Kitchen: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck. This one and their Thug Kitchen 101: Fast as F*ck: A cookbook were the first cookbooks I bought after going vegan. Great recipes that are tasty and impressive enough to serve to company without spending hours in the kitchen, 2. Fuss Free Vegan by Sam Turnbull. Sam also has a blog and YouTube channel called It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken. By far my most used and favourite of these. I use this cook book all the time and recommend it the most. If you are starting out and looking for how to make the basics this is the book for you. If you want to recreate the recipes you loved and served your family before going plant based, this is the book for you. Super easy and always delicious. My copy is full of my handwritten notes where I tweaked a recipe to suite my tastes and ingredients on hand. I highly recommend this one and her channel! 3. Fast Easy Cheap Vegan by Sam Turnbull. This is her newest cook book that came out in 2021. It’s full of her signature simple, quick and tasty recipes as well as mixes and helpers to have in your cupboard when you’re short on time or want to plan ahead. Amazing. 4. Forks Over Knives The Cookbook by Del Sroufe. This companion to the documentary Forks Over Knives is what I recommend to anyone who has decided to go plant based for their health. These are the recipes your doctor wants you to eat with only whole foods and low oil. But also delicious. If you are willing to spend a little time in the kitchen, the results will be worth it! 5. Vegan 100 by Gaz Oakley. This UK chef also has a YouTube channel and goes by Avant-Garde Vegan. His recipes are amazing and will impress even the biggest foodie. They are more involved and will mean committing to more time in the kitchen but if you are like me and love cooking, this cookbook will become a favourite. He includes the basics, pub favourites as well as fancier options. Well worth checking it out as well as his chancel. As I mention in the video, this isn’t an exhaustive list and I have other cookbooks on my shelf. These are just the 5 I use and recommend most.
