This yummy and delicious Pongal made Rava(semolina) and Moong Dal, a wholesome dish using pantry available ingredients, under 30 minutes. Made this melt-in-mouth restaurant-style Rava Pongal, perfect texture, shared tips, and tricks to make Perfect Rava Pongal. Rava Pongal recipe in English Below. How to make Perfect Ghee Rava Pongal(Rava Pongal Seimurai, Rava Pongal Seivathu Eppadi) Wash & then pressure cook ½ cup Moong dal with 1 cup water + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder + ¼ tsp salt + a drop of oil, for 4 whistles or till the dal cooks well. Let the pressure release by itself Open the lid, mash the dal well, keep aside. Now Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp ghee(don’t use only ghee, gives a nice taste), add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp pepper, curry leaves,10 cashews, inch ginger grated, fry everything till the cashews turn golden. add the 1 cup Rava roast well with the tempering till you get a nice aroma from Rava(don’t roast Rava till golden) Now add the cooked moong dal, 2 & 3/4 cup water mix well without lumps(keep in low flame). Use a wire whisk for mixing. Cover and cook the Rava(for 3mins). Once the Rava is cooked well, add 1 tbsp ghee cover & keep it resting for a few minutes & then serve hot. Ghee Rava Pongal goes well with coconut chutney or sambar. Tips: Water & Rava measurement is important so make sure that you measure everything before use. Cook the dal properly and use the wire whisk to mix it with Rava, to avoid the formation of lumps. Serving Suggestion: 1 serving(a small bowl) of Rava Pongal is 240 calories, weight watchers you can reduce the ghee quantity and enjoy!!!
