| Video Discription | Rava Bobbatlu | Rava Puran Poli | Ugadi Special Bobbatlu Bobbatlu is traditional Indian flatbreads stuffed with flavoured and sweetened lentils. The outer covering is made with wheat flour or all-purpose flour. The stuffing is made with cooked chana dal (Bengal gram) which is sweetened with jaggery and flavoured with cardamom and nutmeg powder. But here we are replacing the stuffing with Rava and besan flour. This is extremely helpful for those who are willing to make bobbatlu / Puran Poli without much effort. Basically, for beginners. Recipe: 1) In a large mixing bowl add 2 cups of wheat flour, 2) a pinch of salt, 3) 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder 4) Add 1 tsp of ghee 5) Begin to knead the dough, adding water as required. 6) The dough should be smooth and soft. 7) Cover and keep aside the dough for 20 - 30 minutes. 1) Heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of ghee 2) Add 1 cup of Bombay Rava and roast for few minutes or until aromatic 3) Take the Rava into a bowl 4) Add 1 tbsp of ghee 5) Add 1/2 cup of besan ( gram flour) and roast the same way as Rava 6) Take the flour into a bowl 1) In a pan add 1 cup of jaggery 1/4 cup of sugar or adjust according to your taste. 2) Now add 3 cups of water and stir until the jaggery is dissolved 3) Once the jaggery is dissolved add 1/4 tsp of elachi (cardamom powder ) 4) Add Rava and besan into the jaggery while stirring with a spatula. 5) Make sure no lumps are formed. 6) Add 1 tbsp of ghee and mix 7) Let the Rava mixture cool Completely Making Rava Puran poli 1) Now grease your palm with ghee and make medium sized rava puran balls for stuffing. 1) Take a medium or large size ball from the dough 2) Roll it 3 to 4 inches wide flat 3) Place a portion of Puran mixture in the centre of the rolled dough. 4) Bring the edges together towards the centre join and pinch them together. Two ways to make Puran Poli 1) pat the dough flat on a greased plastic sheet Or 2) use a roller pin to flatten the dough.
