You’ll see side hustles on how to make $100 online to making $100,000/year drop shipping. Most of these are duds but I’m going to ranking the types of side hustles into tiers (standard tier list) depending on how much money you can make, how much time is needed, skills you gain, and growth potential.

D tier side hustles
I would personally stay away from D tier side hustles because they basically add no value to you. Doing online surveys don’t benefit you other than the Pennie’s you make. I’m an advocate for learning and development so that you can really increase your earning potential.
Some examples of D tier side hustles:
• Sell scrap metal
• Rakuten
• Swagbucks
• Slide
• Drop
• Online Surveys
• Cash Back/rewards programs
• Signing up for For Freebies
• Low-Effort Passive Income Apps
• Donating Blood
• Donating Plasma
C tier side hustles
These side hustles offer a bit more in terms of value and experience. However, the lack of growth and income makes it difficult to become wealthy. You could absolutely learn new skills working another part time job, or expose yourself to a new industry. You may even develop business skills as well depending on how involved you are in seeking the knowledge. However, since it’s low risk, the rewards are low as well. The opportunity cost of C tier and B tier in terms of skill acquisition, earning potential, and growth are astronomical so I would recommend going to B tier if you’re motivated. Otherwise, if you want to have a second job that guarantees a paycheque, C tier is perfect.

B tier side hustles
This is where I feel everyone who wants to actually make money and learn valuable skills go. This is where I believe future entrepreneurs should start. B tier hustles utilizes specialized skills and knowledge that the general public can't just pick up over a weekend class. They're founded on your skills, knowledge and individuality. Everyone has something they are uniquely good at and there's always a way to monetize that skill.
B tier side hustles/side businesses
- flipping houses
- flipping cars
- couch flipping
- photography
- freelance anything
- affiliate marketing
- social media marketing agency
- tutoring
- online courses
- cooking
- landscaping
- window cleaning
The list goes on and on since there are so many different types of these side hustles that exist. The best thing about B tier hustles is that they can turn in A tier.
A tier side hustles
The difference between B tier and A tier side hustles is that A tier has a repeatable business model. I look at A tiers as side businesses as oppose to side hustles. Every single hustle on the B tier list can be an A tier business if you are able to generate consistent revenue.
For example if you start a social media marketing agency and you have 10 clients who pay you on retainer, say, $500/month each. That's $5000/month with very low overhead.
Or if you are a freelance writer and land a deal with some publishers who want you to consistently write content for them every month.
The goal is to make it repeatable so if you wanted to quit your 9-5 job, you can.
S tier businesses
Now this is the holy grail. This is where you can scale, make a lot of money, and build wealth. The S tier is where you actually hire employees. S tier is where you could sell the business because you've built the systems and processes.
Take social media marketing agency for example. Once you get more clients than you can handle on your own, you can hire account managers, and salespeople to acquire and manage all the accounts. At that point you can focus on strategically growing the business.
The ability to scale with S tier is limitless because at this point, you're an enterprise.
