As tall as the 15 story building the PSLV weights an awesome 280 tons. The earlier 2 generation of vehicles of ISRO were the SLV 3 and the ASLV. The primary objective of the Indian space program is to be self-reliant in space technology. The development of large vehicle technology is an exercise and synergy in which scientists and engineers specializing in diverse fields have to work as a single coherent team."
