He has been principal clarinetist for the University of Portland Orchestra and a member of various chamber music groups, among them Mixed Medleys and the Trio Con Brio. He and friends have performed extensively at The Old Church Luncheon Concerts, some of which can be seen on YouTube. Dave Knaub has retired from a career in mechanical engineering, but he has not retired from making music. He performs with the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra and the Tilikum Chamber Orchestra, along with various chamber music projects. His teachers have included bass players from the Rochester Philharmonic, the New York City Ballet Orchestra and the Houston Symphony. Dave enjoys the connection between music and math. Renee Elias has been an English teacher, a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and a Science Editor. She has been doing commentary for Jules’ music groups for years and loves sharing research on the lives of composers, especially operatic ones.
