| Video Discription | This segment from the compilation feature, "Ultraman Zoffy: Ultra Warriors vs. the Giant Monster Army" (1984), spotlights Pigmon, a cute, friendly-to-humans monster featured in two episodes of “Ultraman,” He is seen here in a color clip from Ultraman #37: “The Little Hero” (1967). He then narrates a montage of four other “cute” monsters seen in black-and-white clips taken from Ultraman’s predecessor, “Ultra Q,” and from these episodes in particular: #8: Terror of the Sweet Honey [the giant mole]; #10: The Underground Super Express Goes West [the ape-like monster on the train]; #15 “Kanegon’s Cocoon” [the friendly coin-eating monster who strolls through Tokyo]; and #16: “Garamon Strikes Back” [Garamon, the Pigmon precursor, rampaging through Tokyo]. The Pigmon precursor was clearly a threat in its Ultra Q appearance, but the childlike narration provided by the monster over this whole segment softens its antics quite a bit. (That narration was composed and recorded for this compilation.) Ultraman only appears in the intro. In Japanese with no subs. |
