| Video Discription | Pattinam pakoda is a famous street food from Chennai, which was also lovingly called as " "Madraspattinam" in olden days. This deep fried fritters would be a great evening snack with hot cup of coffee and tea. I can understand you are eager to learn how to make this recipe, just like me. So, let's jump straight to it. INGREDIENTS: Roasted gram dal powder - 1 cup Rice flour - 2 tablespoon Besan Flour - 2 tablespoon Salt to taste Ginger paste - 1/4 teaspoon Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (Optional) Small onion - 10 (chopped Roughly) Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon Curry leaves - 10 (chopped finely) Coriander leaves - 2 teaspoon (chopped finely) Salt to taste Ghee - 1/2 teaspoon Hing / Asafoetida - 1 generous pinch Oil for deep frying How to make pattanam pakoda? Step by step instructions STEP 1: Take all the ingredients except oil for deep frying in a wider bowl. Add water little by little & make stiff and soft dough. STEP 2: Take a small portion of dough and make a marble size balls. Make sure there is no crack. STEP 3: Heat oil in a pan and place balls make sure you have enough space to cook them. Turn them gently at regular interval and cook till all sides are cooked (till it turns golden brown in color). STEP 4: Drain the oil and remove from the pan as mentioned in the video.
