This is a letter written by James to the 12 tribes scattered among the nations which is very clear that it is addressed to the Jewish Dispersion – to the churches started among the dispersed Jews around the Mediterranean. James was one of four brothers of Jesus. He was very humble to introduce himself as A servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. The keyword of this letter is ‘Do’. This letter can be called as a ‘Christian Practical Book’. James teaches us the difference between being tested and being tempted. God will never tempt us but he will test us. God tests us in the hope that we will pass. We are tested to get promoted and to learn perseverance. Just as there are 2 sorts of trial – Test and Temptation, James talks about 2 sorts of Wisdom – Wisdom from above (Heaven) and Wisdom from below (World) . James also talks about Faith and blessed is the man who passes the test for he will receive The Crown of Life. Finally, he ends James 1 by talking about The Righteous Life that God desires.
