This is a slightly varied version of puran poli prepared in Maharashtra. The puranam or filling for Obattu or poli is made from chana dal/ split Bengal gram, jaggery and ghee. The outer cover is prepared from refined flour or maida, turmeric powder, salt and sesame seed oil. Preparation of this poli calls for care, love and patience, but is well with the effort. This poli is soft and yummy.
